snippITs Homes Direct is the working title of a web-based service that will help find empty homes for tenants moving from London to the North of England, while also supplying information about job vacancies, reports Inside Housing. The DTLR research initiative will, says a spokesperson, 'evaluate the options for providing electronic delivery of a new service or services, which will provide national information and advice about the housing choices and options in all parts of the UK.' Another web initiative funded by the DTLR is a website offering advice on choice-based lettings. Web-based advice, an e-zine, conferences and support work will be given to the 27 choice-based lettings pilots. www.cchr.net should be up and running by the end of August 2001 under the auspices of the Centre for Comparative Housing research at de Montfort University. The best in tenant group website is Oriel Estate Residents' Association's, or so say TPAS. Federation category winner was Doncaster Federation of Tenants and Residents Association. |
